UPPAbaby Vista V3 vs. UPPAbaby Cruz V2 | Stroller Comparison
The UPPAbaby Vista and UPPAbaby Cruz are among the most popular strollers available today. Crafted by the same renowned brand, UPPAbaby, their frames, seats, and looks are quite similar. However, there are some major differences between the Vista and Cruz that set them apart!
If you're choosing between the two, the key question to consider is: Do you want your stroller to adapt as your family grows? The Vista is a convertible stroller that can transform from a single to a double when a second (or subsequent) child arrives. In contrast, the Cruz is designed for one child only (unless you add the UPPAbaby PiggyBack ride-along board—an accessory compatible with both strollers that attaches to the frame, allowing an older sibling to stand and ride along).
Overall, the Vista V3 is a larger stroller, with an oversized basket, bigger wheels, and the ability to accommodate a second child. That's why some parents prefer the Vista—and it's also why others prefer the Cruz, which is lighter and more narrow while priced less.
So which one is right for your needs? Read on to learn more in this UPPAbaby Vista V3 vs. UPPAbaby Cruz V2 comparison.

UPPAbaby Vista V3
UPPAbaby released the versatile Vista V3 convertible stroller in Fall 2024. It replaced the popular Vista V2, and came with a few upgrades including an all-weather comfort seat with removable insert, shiny aluminum extendable handlebar with the words Vista outlined on the frame, lighter weight tires, reflective accents on the wheels and basket, improved suspension, Greenguard Gold Certified fabrics and frame, and all new fashions!
The Vista can be used with two stroller seats, two infant car seats, two bassinets, or any combination therein. But plenty of parents buy the Vista intending only to use it as a single stroller, thanks to its sturdy wheels, all-wheel suspension and oversized storage basket accommodating up to 30 pounds.
Unlike previous models, the UPPAbaby Vista V3 does not come with a bassinet any longer. However, you can easily add one on to your stroller purchase to have a safe place for baby to ride and sleep, as it's approved for overnight use.
UPPAbaby Cruz V2
The UPPAbaby Cruz V2 is a lightweight yet sturdy single stroller that's an ideal ride no matter where you're cruising. The Cruz has an almost identical seat and frame as the Vista and shares other features, too, like a reversible seat and standing fold.
Unlike the Vista, the Cruz can't convert to a double stroller and doesn't come with a bassinet, although you can purchase one separately for your newborn.
See the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 in the video below.
UPPAbaby Vista V3 vs. Cruz V2 Price
The UPPAbaby Vista V3 costs more than the UPPAbaby Cruz V2, however, since it doesn't come with the bassinet any longer, it's less of a price difference than it used to be. The main reason for the price difference: the Vista V3 can become a double stroller and the Cruz cannot.

UPPAbaby Vista V3 vs. Cruz V2 Weight
The UPPAbaby Vista V3 and Cruz V2 are similar in weight and size. The UPPAbaby Cruz V2 weighs 1.5 pounds less than the Vista because its wheels and frame are slightly smaller. The Vista V3 is slightly larger because it can hold up to three children.
- Vista V3: 27 pounds
- Cruz V2: 25.5 pounds
UPPAbaby Vista V3 vs. Cruz V2 Dimensions
The main size difference between the Vista V3 and Cruz V2 is the width: The Cruz V2 has a reduced width of nearly 3 inches, making it a little more compact for navigating crowded spaces. Note, the Vista V3 is the same exact size as the previous model.
Dimensions
- Vista V3: 36"L x 25.7"W x 39.5"H
- Cruz V2: 37.5"L x 22.8"W x 40"H

UPPAbaby Vista V3 vs. Cruz V2 Age Requirements and Weight Capacity
Both strollers have the same height and weight capacity, with seats recommended for use from 3 months to 50 pounds. Use either stroller from birth by adding the UPPAbaby Bassinet for a lie flat option, the Infant SnugSeat accessory for additional head and neck support, or attaching an infant car seat.
The canopies of both the Vista V3 and Cruz V2 slide up on the frame to create more headroom for a growing toddler—a unique feature not seen on most strollers that can help accommodate tall kids. The Vista V3 and Cruz V2 are among the roomiest strollers on the market for taller toddlers.
For the Vista, the second seat (called the RumbleSeat) for the lower position of the double stroller is smaller than the upper seat (known as the Toddler Seat). The RumbleSeat was updated in early 2024 and now has an increased weight capacity, adjustable canopy, and adjustable footrest. Learn more about the Vista's capabilities as a double stroller in this UPPAbaby Vista Toddler Seat vs. RumbleSeat comparison.
- Vista: 50 pounds for the upper toddler seat, 40 pounds for the lower RumbleSeat V2+ (previous model RumbleSeat was 35 pound weight limit)
- Cruz: 50 pounds
- Bassinet: 20 pounds or until the infant can push up on hands and knees, whichever comes first
UPPAbaby Vista V3 vs. Cruz V2 Wheels
Larger wheels gives the Vista V3 a slight edge in maneuverability over the Cruz V2.
The Vista and Cruz were both updated in 2020 to include enhanced all-wheel suspension and softer whees. With dual-action suspension, springs work independently to provide the smoothest ride, a feature not seen on other strollers.
The Vista's suspension was further updated with the V3 release. The new FlexRide Suspension provides a smooth and comfortable ride on any terrain. Whether you’re strolling with one child or three, this enhanced suspension ensures a seamless experience for both parent and child!
- Vista V2: 8" polyurethane tires; 11.5" polyurethane rear tires; new FlexRide Suspension
- Cruz V2: 7" polyurethane tires; 10" polyurethane rear tires; enhanced all-wheel suspension
UPPAbaby Vista V3 vs. Cruz V2 Configurations
Both the Vista V3 and Cruz V2 offer plenty of versatility: The seat of the stroller is removable and reversible, allowing you to keep a close eye on a parent-facing baby and allowing a toddler to face forward and see the world.
Both strollers are also compatible with the UPPAbaby Bassinet, which is sold separately and no longer included with the Vista. Both strollers are also compatible with several infant car seats. UPPAbaby infant car seats do not require adapters and click right onto the connection point on the frame! See which car seats are compatible with the Vista and Cruz later in this post.
Of course, the Vista has many more configurations than the Cruz because it can be converted into a double stroller with the addition of a second seat.
Vista V3 Configurations:
- One Toddler Seat: facing you or the world

- One Toddler Seat: facing you or the world / One RumbleSeat: facing you or the world

- Car Seat
- Bassinet
You can also add the PiggyBack for a second child with any of the above!
UPPAbaby Vista V3 vs. Cruz V2 Features
The UPPAbaby Vista V3 and UPPAbaby Cruz V2 are very similar in how they look. In fact, if you didn't know that the Vista converted to a double, you may mistakingly think they are the same stroller. However, the Vista V3 does have some features that the Cruz V2 does not. Let's take a look at these features:
The Vista V3:
- is a convertible stroller, meaning you can add a second lower seat either from the beginning for twins or later on as you expand your family
- has new FlexRide Suspension making it even smoother to push especially when fully loaded with up to 3 children (one on PiggyBack ride-along-board accessory)
- lighter weight tires and reflective accents on the wheels and basket
- an All-Weather Comfort Seat that includes a removable insert for cooler days and converts to mesh for warmer weather
- has a 'Quick-to-Secure Harness System,' which includes an easy magnetic buckle and a no-rethread harness for effortless securing
- is GREENGUARD Gold Certified, ensuring that it meets rigorous standards for low chemical emissions and contributes to a healthier environment for your child
- has a new look with its extendable handlebar - it's now shiny
- has the word "VISTA" outlined on the frame of the stroller
UPPAbaby Vista V3 vs. Cruz V2 Bassinet
Previously, the Vista stroller was packaged in the same box as the bassinet, so you couldn't buy the stroller without getting the bassinet. However, the Vista V3 brings more customization. You can choose to purchase the bassinet or opt out, which is especially nice if you're getting the Vista V3 after your little one has outgrown the bassinet. The bassinet is also optional for the Cruz V2. The same bassinet is used for the Vista and Cruz, and no adapters are required.
The UPPAbaby Bassinet also got an upgrade at the same time as the Vista V3. Now known as the Bassinet V3, it includes: cross ventilation panels for greater airflow, a dual zipper on the bassinet boot to make it easier to tend to baby, enhanced vented base for added air flow from top to bottom, foam-free air mesh mattress for maximum breathability, and it's now GREENGUARD Gold Certified!
Bassinets aren't required for using the stroller with a newborn, but they are recommended for a few reasons.
A bassinet allows a baby to lie completely flat, rather than in a slightly upright position in the car seat, which allows for open airways and a better-supported head and neck. Bassinets are also more ventilated than car seats, which tend to make babies sweaty with their protective foam.
Plus, the UPPAbaby bassinet is approved for overnight sleeping, making it a handy accessory if you're traveling or frequently visiting the grandparents. The bassinet can also be paired with the UPPAbaby bassinet stand for use at your bedside—and as a bonus, the stand even converts into a laundry hamper later on.
UPPAbaby Vista V3 vs. Cruz V2 How to Fold
Both the Vista V3 and Cruz V2 fold similarly and stand on their own when folded to prevent the stroller from getting dirty. For the Vista, the second seat should be removed before folding. Watch the videos to see how it's done.

UPPAbaby Vista V3 vs. Cruz V2 Pros and Cons
So which stroller is better: the UPPAbaby Vista V3 or the UPPAbaby Cruz V2? Let's highlight the benefits and drawbacks of each.
UPPAbaby Vista V3
If you prefer a stroller that will have the longevity (or at least the option) for two (or even three!) children, then the Vista may be your best bet. The main drawbacks of the Vista are its higher price tag and heavier weight.
Benefits
- Turns into a double stroller with the addition of a second seat, allowing continued use when a second child comes along instead of buying a separate double stroller
- New enhanced suspension and larger wheels offer greater maneuverability over rough terrain and curbs, compared with smaller wheels for Cruz
- Allows for multiple seating configurations using up to two UPPAbaby infant car seats, two bassinets, or two stroller seats
- Includes an all-weather seat
- Magnetic buckles for easy harnessing
- GREENGUARD Gold Certified
- Storage basket is larger than the Cruz and includes more storage space than most strollers on the market—easily take everything you need
Drawbacks
- Costs more than the Cruz
- Stroller is about 1.5 pounds heavier and 3 inches wider compared to the Cruz
UPPAbaby Cruz V2
The UPPAbaby Cruz V2 is the younger sibling of the Vista, ideal for families who only intend on using it with one child (or with an older sibling on the PiggyBack board) and prefer a lighter stroller for everyday use.
Benefits
- Weighs 1.5 pounds less and is about 3 inches more narrow than the Vista, making it easier to lift in and out of the car
- Costs less than the Vista
- Can still be used with a second child with the UPPAbaby PiggyBack board
- Storage basket can still hold up to 30 pounds
Drawbacks
- Can't accommodate a second seat like the Vista can
- Smaller wheels are less suitable for rough terrain compared with larger Vista wheels
- Doesn't have the new V3 upgrades
