Bugaboo Dragonfly vs. Bugaboo Fox5 Stroller Comparison

Bugaboo Dragonfly vs. Bugaboo Fox5 Stroller Comparison

Bugaboo is one of the most well-known luxury stroller brands. They create strollers that combine function, style, and comfort. The Bugaboo Fox5 is their full-size single stroller that is agile like its namesake, but also sturdy and strong. It has amazing all-wheel suspension and can handle all different terrains.

New to the lineup in Spring 2023 is the Bugaboo Dragonfly. It’s in a newer class of strollers - mid-size - and perfect for parents who want more than a travel compact stroller, but less than a full-size. This stroller could function as a one-and-done - great for everyday, but also easy for in and out of the car and travel! The Dragonfly has an impressive and unique one-handed fold. The seat or bassinet can fold with the stroller as well in a slim package!

In this article, we will delve into a comprehensive comparison between these two Bugaboos - the Dragonfly and the Fox5, exploring their distinctive features, specs, and pros and cons.

Let’s take a look!

Bugaboo Dragonfly vs. Bugaboo Fox5 Configurations

The seats on the Dragonfly and Fox5 are removable and reversible, allowing your child to face you when they're younger and face forward to explore the world as they grow. Both strollers can also be used with an infant car seat and bassinet (see next sections for more details).

Both strollers can also accommodate an older child on a ride-along-board attachment! The Bugaboo Comfort Wheeled Board allows the child to sit or stand, and holds a child up to 44 pounds.

Bugaboo Dragonfly vs. Bugaboo Fox5 Bassinet

Both strollers offer a safe, flat place for baby to sleep while strolling. The Fox5 comes with bassinet fabric that attaches on the seat frame, and can be used until your baby is ready for the regular stroller seat - typically around 6 months. Once your baby is ready, you simply take off the bassinet fabric and put on the seat fabric. This is great for families with smaller storage room, as you are never having to store a big bassinet, just the fabric and mattress. However, it is a drawback to those that see themselves going back and forth a bit during the transition from bassinet to stroller seat or for those that still want to use the bassinet in their home.

The Bugaboo Dragonfly can be purchased with or without a bassinet, and is a standalone bassinet - however, the seat and bassinet do share the canopy so you would attach the canopy to whatever one you are using. The biggest advantage of the Dragonfly bassinet is that it can fold with the stroller!

Both bassinets have a hard bottom that allow them to be placed anywhere, making them convenient to bring along for a restaurant nap or an overnight at a hotel. Bugaboo also offers a bassinet stand for use in your home. The stand can also be used with the stroller seat as a portable high chair!

Both the Dragonfly and Fox5 bassinets are well-ventilated with mesh panels, which allow for more air flow than the hot, protective foam of a car seat, and keep baby completely shaded from the sun.

The bassinets can be used until approximately 6 months, depending mostly on the height of the baby.

Conclusion
