2017 UPPAbaby Vista vs. 2015 UPPAbaby Vista Stroller Comparison

2017 UPPAbaby Vista vs. 2015 UPPAbaby Vista Stroller Comparison

The UPPAbaby Vista underwent numerous changes between the 2015 model (which remained current through 2016) and the 2017 model, which was reduced in size and saw the debut of leather details.

No matter which stroller you choose, know that you're getting one of the most popular strollers on the market. Parents love the UPPAbaby Vista for its ability to convert into a double stroller, its stylish look, its durability and 3-year warranty, and its included bassinet that keeps baby comfortable in her early months.

If you're debating 2017 UPPAbaby Vista vs. 2015 UPPAbaby Vista, here are the differences to look for.

2017 UPPAbaby Vista Colors

The biggest difference between the two model years is the one you'll notice first: trendy colors that give the 2017 UPPAbaby Vista a more modern, sophisticated look.

New colors for 2017 are Loic White, Austin Hunter Green, Dennison Bordeaux and Henry Blue Marl. The 2017 UPPAbaby Vista also carries on three of the same colors from the 2015 model: Jake Black, Pascal Gray and Taylor Indigo Blue.

These colors of the 2015 UPPAbaby Vista are no longer being manufactured: Georgie Marine Blue, Lindsay Wheat, Maya Marigold Yellow and Denny Red.

2017 UPPAbaby Vista Leather Details

2017 UPPAbaby VISTA with Leather Details

100% real-leather handlebars and bumper bars on three of the 2017 UPPAbaby Vista models give the stroller a rich look while adding comfort and practicality for parents.

Hand-sewn onto each stroller, the handlebar is perforated for extra grip, while the bumper bar is embossed so that it's easier to clean. The leather is REACH-certified, meaning that it was manufactured with a restricted use of toxic chemicals in order to reduce associated risks.

Real leather offers better breathability and flexibility than other faux-leather handlebars on the market. UPPAbaby tells parents to expect the leather to develop a patina, much like the leather on your favorite handbag.

Leather details are standard on the Loic White, Austin Hunter Green and Henry Blue Marl. But if you want another color stroller, good news: a zip-on leather cover for handlebars and bumper bars is available as an accessory.

2017 UPPAbaby Vista Price

Update from January 2023: The Vista V2 is priced at $999.99 for all colors.

The leather features mean increased prices for the 2017 UPPAbaby Vista in Loic White, Austin Hunter Green and Henry Blue Marl, all of which are $899.99. Other 2017 colors retail for $839.99 to $879.99, depending on whether the stroller frame is silver or black.

2017 UPPAbaby Vista Weight and Dimensions

The 2017 UPPAbaby Vista has a slightly reduced footprint than the 2015 version, although you may not notice the difference. The weight has been reduced by 1.5 pounds, and the width reduced by 1 inch.

2017 UPPAbaby Vista Fabrics

2017 UPPAbaby VISTA

The 2017 UPPAbaby Vista features an upgraded fabric on the UPF 50+ sunshade, the silver material that can be extended from the inside of the stroller seat or bassinet canopy.

The 2015 sunshade was a light metallic fabric (think of the sun shades you put in your car), which tended to get wrinkled.

The new sunshade, which is included both on the stroller canopy and the bassinet canopy, is made with a softer, higher-quality fabric that reduces wrinkles.

2017 UPPAbaby Vista Double Stroller

2017 UPPAbaby VISTA Double Stroller

The second seats, which UPPAbaby calls the RumbleSeat, are interchangeable on both 2015 and 2017 Vista models.

If you're buying a 2015 UPPAbaby Vista and want to use it as a double stroller, we recommend buying the second seat now—even if you don't have a second child yet! UPPAbaby is no longer manufacturing the Vista in Georgie Marine Blue, Lindsay Wheat, Maya Marigold Yellow or Denny Red. If you're buying one of those strollers now without the RumbleSeat, it's unlikely you'll be able to find a matching second seat in the future as inventory is depleted.

If you're using the Vista as a double stroller, don't forget to purchase upper adapters and lower adapters to create more space between the seats. The adapters are required for double configurations using an infant car seat or bassinet. For more detail, see this post: What Adapters Do I Need for the UPPAbaby Vista?

2017 UPPAbaby Vista Bassinet

2017 UPPAbaby VISTA Bassinet

With both the 2015 and 2017 models, a bassinet is included with your purchase of the Vista. For 2017, UPPAbaby made a few updates to the bassinet, like adding the new sunshade material and a toggle to secure the sunshade for overnight sleep mode when the canopy is down.

2017 UPPAbaby Mesa infant car seat

The UPPAbaby Mesa infant car seat also received updates for 2017. Look for a new softer material, increased padding in the center and side of the car seat, and a tailored fit for a more modern look.

The 2017 car seat comes in four colors: Jake Black, Pascal Gray, Taylor Navy and Henry Blue Marl. The Mesa in Henry Blue Marl is the first and only car seat on the market made from fire-resistant merino wool.
