Can the UPPAbaby Cruz convert to a double stroller?
No, the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 is a single stroller and cannot be converted to a double stroller.
While you cannot add a second seat to the UPPAbaby Cruz or Cruz V2, you can use the Cruz V2 with two children by adding a Piggyback ride-along board that allows an older toddler to stand behind the stroller.
UPPAbaby made some major updates to the Cruz in 2020 with the launch of the Cruz V2 model, featuring a larger stroller seat, wider frame with larger all-terrain tires, and more features built into the stroller seat. Because of this change, the Cruz V2 frame is only compatible with the UPPAbaby Piggyback board for the Cruz V2, and 2019 and older Cruz models with a narrower frame would only fit the 2019-older Cruz Piggyback model 0270.
Neither the 2019 and older Cruz nor the 2020 to present Cruz V2 will be compatible with a Vista Piggyback board nor with any double adapters or Rumbleseat for the Vista.
If you're looking for an UPPAbaby single-to-double stroller, consider the UPPAbaby Vista V2, which can be purchased as a single stroller with bassinet, double stroller with two seats and a bassinet, or twin stroller with two seats and two bassinets.
If you'd like a lightweight double, consider the UPPAbaby G-Link 2 side-by-side umbrella stroller, or these other lightweight double stroller options:
