The UPPAbaby CRUZ is going bigger on features and smaller in its fold for 2020!
The redesigned and renamed UPPAbaby CRUZ V2—now in stock at Strolleria—folds more compactly while offering a roomier toddler seat, bigger storage basket, and larger wheels with added suspension to enhance maneuverability.
Yet the 2019 UPPAbaby CRUZ still has its advantages, like a weight reduction of 4 pounds. Plus, the 2019 CRUZ is 20% off at Strolleria while inventory lasts!
We'll review all the differences between the 2020 and 2019 CRUZ models in this comparison.
The UPPAbaby CRUZ V2 is now in stock at Strolleria and is available for immediate shipping.
The 2019 UPPAbaby CRUZ, which remains available at Strolleria in limited quantities, is 20% off while supplies last.
Watch our video for a comparison of the 2020 and 2019 CRUZ, including an overview of the changes to the wheels, canopy, fold, Toddler Seat and more.
With several upgraded features comes an upgraded price, too: The starting price of the CRUZ V2 is increasing by $100.
While supplies last, the 2019 CRUZ is 20% off, making the stroller over $200 less than the new model:
For the 2020 CRUZ V2, colors Alice Dusty Pink, Finn Deep Sea and Hazel Olive Green are priced at $649.99. The remaining colors cost $679.99 because of their more textured and premium fabrics.
The 2020 UPPAbaby CRUZ V2 comes in these new colors:
These 2019 colors will continue into 2020, with the added feature changes:
For 2020, the Loic White color of the CRUZ is being replaced with Bryce White Marl, a similar but more texturized color currently seen on the 2019 VISTA.
One of the biggest differences for the 2020 UPPAbaby CRUZ V2 is the stroller's larger, softer wheels and enhanced suspension in all four wheels.
The 2019 CRUZ has smaller wheels with suspension only in the front, which can make for a bumpier ride over rough surfaces like grass, gravel and dirt.
For the 2020 CRUZ V2, larger wheels and dual-action suspension help soften the ride, especially as your growing child adds weight to the stroller.
With dual-action suspension, springs work independently to provide the smoothest ride, a feature not seen on other strollers. When you apply pressure to the frame of the CRUZ V2, you'll feel the stroller recoil and bounce back—something you won't feel on the 2019 model.
See below for the change in wheel size from the CRUZ to CRUZ V2.
Good news for parents of tall kids: The 2020 UPPAbaby CRUZ V2 offers more space and improved comfort for a larger child.
Compared with the 2019 CRUZ, the seat back and leg rest on the CRUZ V2 are both 2" longer, and the footrest is a half-inch deeper.
On the left side in the photo below, compare the size of the Toddler Seat on the 2020 CRUZ V2 (left, in Alice Dusty Pink) and the 2019 CRUZ (right, in Jordan Charcoal Melange).
See the measurements for the CRUZ Toddler Seat below.
In another improvement to the 2020 seat, the CRUZ V2 has a no-rethread harness for faster and easier height adjustments. On the 2019 model, you'll need to remove the harness from its slots and reinsert them to make changes as your child grows.
The canopy of the UPPAbaby CRUZ V2 has been redesigned for 2020 to add better sun coverage—and style points, too.
The 2019 CRUZ has a silver sunshade that can be pulled out of the canopy. Instead of this shiny fabric, the 2020 CRUZ V2 has a more sophisticated look thanks to extra fabric that can be unzipped to create an extension and reveal a mesh peek-a-boo window.
The CRUZ V2 canopy also has a second mesh panel toward the front of the canopy that can be opened for even more airflow. By comparison, the 2019 CRUZ has a single ventilated window, and you'll need to roll and secure a fabric flap to open it.
And while the 2019 CRUZ canopy includes the UPPAbaby logo in large lettering, the 2020 CRUZ V2 shows the logo on a small leather tab for a more sophisticated look.
The 2020 UPPAbaby CRUZ V2 is both bigger and smaller at the same time.
While the 2020 CRUZ will save you nearly 4 inches in height on its fold, the stroller is 4 pounds heavier because of its larger wheels and roomier Toddler Seat.
Compare the weights and dimensions of both strollers below.
Who doesn't wish their stroller folded smaller? The 2020 UPPAbaby CRUZ V2 is more compact when folded, making it easier to stash your stroller in your trunk or carry it while traveling.
Compared with the 2019 version, the new CRUZ is nearly 4 inches shorter in height when folded.
The underseat basket on the 2020 CRUZ V2 offers more storage space than ever before, holding up to 30 pounds of gear.
While the 2019 CRUZ has a smaller basket with a 25-pound capacity, the basket on the 2020 version is now more comparable to that of the VISTA (although still not quite as big).
Plus, the basket has a more streamlined look without fabric snaps seen on earlier models, as well as an extra storage pocket for accessories like a rain cover or car seat adapters.
The 2020 and 2019 CRUZ strollers are compatible with the same car seats:
No adapters are required when using the UPPAbaby MESA on the CRUZ, while adapters are needed when attaching any other car seat brand.
See this video for an overview of car seats compatible with the UPPAbaby CRUZ.
Older car seats from 2019-earlier will fit onto the 2020 CRUZ, and car seat adapters are not changing for 2020.
All accessories from 2019-earlier will also fit the 2020 CRUZ, with one exception: Because of its redesign, the CRUZ V2 will have a different Piggyback ride-along board than previous models.
