UPPAbaby Cruz V2 vs. Cybex Mios3 Comparison

UPPAbaby Cruz V2 vs. Cybex Mios3 Comparison

If your looking for a midsize single stroller that’s both functional and fashionable, the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 and Cybex Mios3 may be perfect for you!

For years, the Cruz has been a popular choice with parents seeking a full-size stroller that isn’t too bulky. It weighs 25 pounds and is easy to fold and lift, yet it’s still sizable enough to offer a reversible seat and an ample storage basket.

Designed in Germany, Cybex strollers are built for practical parenting but come in dozens of colors and unique patterns to suit your personal style. Cybex even takes inspiration straight from the fashion industry, collaborating with celebrity designers like Jeremy Scott—and gaining celebrity stroller fans in return.

The Cruz V2 and Mios3 both offer must-have features like all-wheel suspension, simple folds, and car seat compatibility, but they’re also very different in both looks and size.

Let’s take a closer look at the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 and Cybex Mios3.

UPPABABY CRUZ V2 vs CYBEX MIOS3 STROLLERS

UPPAbaby Cruz V2

The lightweight and easy-to-fold UPPAbaby Cruz V2 is an ideal companion for exploring the city—or anywhere else you find yourself cruising. The Cruz V2 offers plenty of features, like a reversible seat, extra-large storage basket and a simple, standing fold.

In 2020, UPPAbaby released the Cruz V2, featuring larger wheels with all-wheel suspension, along with other upgrades like a roomier seat, no-rethread harness and redesigned sun canopy.

UPPAbaby has made no functional changes to the Cruz V2 stroller between 2020 and 2023 except the inclusion of more colors that were previously exclusive to the Vista V2. Compare the UPPAbaby Vista V2 vs Cruz V2 here.

Cybex Mios3

The Cybex Mios3 is minimalistic yet sturdy, making it an ideal choice for families seeking a smaller stroller that doesn't skimp on maneuverability.

The Mios3 is lighter and more narrow than most everyday strollers while still offering features like all-wheel suspension and a high weight capacity. The reversible seat and footrest consist of breathable mesh for maximum airflow, while a removable seat inlay adds comfort.

Cybex debuted the Mios3 in 2022 with moderate changes to the Mios2 including an updated seat and harness, slightly higher bassinet position on the frame, and slightly higher cupholder position as well.

If you're tight on space, the Cybex Mios3 is significantly more compact than the UPPAbaby Cruz V2.

The Mios3 is just about 4 pounds lighter, largely because of its smaller wheels, and it's also about 3 inches more narrow. When folded, the Mios3 is smaller by about 3 to 4 inches on all measurements (length, width, and height).

UPPAbaby Cruz V2 vs. Cybex Mios3 Wheels and Maneuverability

The bigger wheels, the smoother the push: Although both strollers have all-wheel suspension to absorb shock along the ride, the larger wheels on the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 are more suitable for varied terrain. The Mios3 is designed more for smooth indoor floors, paved streets, and sidewalks.

The UPPAbaby Cruz V2 has 7" front wheels and 10" rear wheels whereas the Cybex Mios3 has a 6.5” front and rear wheels. The Mios3 still has bigger wheels than a compact, travel size stroller so it may be a great option for those wanting a bit bigger stroller than that, but still small enough to handle tight spaces.

UPPAbaby Cruz V2 vs. Cybex Mios3 Bassinet

Both the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 and Cybex Mios3 are not newborn ready. However, they can be used with a compatible car seat or a bassinet (or carry cot). Why is a bassinet necessary when an infant can ride in a car seat? A bassinet allows your baby to lie flat, which is healthier for their developing neck and spine than the slightly upright position of the car seat. Car seats can restrict baby's airways and aren't recommended for prolonged use or for sleeping outside the car.

The UPPAbaby bassinet is approved to be safe for overnight sleep when placed on the UPPAbaby bassinet stand or another flat surface. Many families use the bassinet as baby's first crib at your bedside, or at least for travel and naps at family or friends’ houses. Plus, the bassinet also offers far more ventilation than a car seat, which, with its protective foam, tends to make babies sweaty. It allows them the freedom to stretch out and sleep or ride comfortably!

The bassinet for the Cybex Mios3 includes a soft 100% cotton lining and an extendable UPF 50+ canopy for sun protection. The back of the bassinet, as well as the back of the canopy, can be fully ventilated to keep baby cool as she sleeps.

UPPAbaby Cruz V2 vs. Cybex Mios2 How to Fold

How to fold the UPPAbaby Cruz V2

To fold the UPPAbaby Cruz V2, first lock the brake to stabilize the rear wheels and make sure the seat is facing forward (or has been removed from the frame if not). Lower the handlebar to its shortest setting, then lift up on the grey tabs at the right and lefthand sides of the handlebar and lower it toward your feet.

The Cruz V2 automatically locks when folded and stands upright, resting on the two rear wheels and two small rubber bumpers in the middle of the handlebar.

Hinge the lock inwards and lift the handlebar up to open the stroller.

See how to fold in this link below!

Car Seats Compatible with UPPAbaby Cruz V2 vs. Cybex Mios3

Both strollers are compatible with infant car seats to turn the stroller into a travel system. However, the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 offers many more options.

For the Cybex Mios3, adapters are included for Cybex car seats. In most cases, Cybex products use the same adapters as Nuna, Maxi-Cosi and Clek car seats, too. However, Strolleria recommends using Cybex car seats for Cybex strollers, as we've found that other car seat brands are sometimes difficult to attach or remove.

The UPPAbaby Mesa V2 and Mesa Max fit the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 without any adapters; other car seat brands can be used with the purchase of adapters.

UPPAbaby Cruz V2 vs. Cybex Mios3 Colors and Fashion Collections

You can also customize your Mios3 by choosing what frame color you prefer - rose gold, chrome with brown, chrome with black, or matte black.
