UPPAbaby Cruz V2 vs. Bumbleride Era Stroller Comparison

When it comes to choosing the perfect stroller for your little one, the options can seem endless. Two popular contenders - one more urban and one more outdoorsy - are the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 and the Bumbleride Era.

Given an all-terrain upgrade in 2020, the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 stroller is versatile, lighter weight, and packed with helpful features such as a larger storage basket, and higher seat back.

The Bumbleride Era is as versatile as it is colorful, featuring eco-friendly materials and air-filled tires for optimal handling.

These two strollers are similar in price and size, and both are a great fit for families seeking a stroller that's rugged enough for a trail or snowy day, yet convenient for daily errands. But the two also differ in several ways, including aesthetics and style, fabrics, and wheels.

Let's look closer at the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 and Bumbleride Era!

Bumbleride Era

Woman pushing Bumbleride Era

Bumbleride brings its eco-conscious, adventure-ready style to the Bumbleride Era, the company's first stroller with four wheels and a reversible seat that allows your child to face you or face forward.

While not intended for jogging, the Era has air-filled tires to provide a smooth ride when strolling over grass, sand, snow and other rough surfaces! The Era is also full of features parents are seeking in an everyday stroller, like newborn ready, car seat and bassinet compatibility, a standing fold, and plenty of storage space.

The fabrics on Bumbleride strollers are water-resistant, thanks to PFC-free durable water repellant, and plastic components are made from 50% recycled recycled fishing nets. Plus, the Era is the first stroller to feature a handlebar made of cork—an all-natural material that's durable, antimicrobial, comfortable, non-toxic and sustainable!

UPPAbaby Cruz V2 vs. Bumbleride Era Configurations and Bassinet

UPPAbaby CRUZ V2 with bassinet and Bumbleride Era with bassinet

Bassinets aren't required for using the stroller with a newborn, but they are recommended for a few reasons.

A bassinet allows a baby to lie completely flat, rather than in a slightly upright position in the car seat, which allows for open airways and a better-supported head and neck. Bassinets are also more ventilated than car seats, which tend to make babies sweaty with their protective foam.

Both the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 and Bumbleride Era have a bassinet available for purchase. The UPPAbaby Bassinet is approved for overnight sleep, and has a bassinet stand option too!

Both strollers also work with compatible car seats (see below).

Car seats compatible with UPPAbaby Cruz V2 and Bumbleride Era

The UPPAbaby Cruz V2 works with the UPPAbaby Mesa car seat series out of the box with no adapter needed! Just simply take off the Cruz V2 stroller seat, and snap the car seat in. It also works with other brand car seats with the use of an adapter.

The Bumbleride Era does not work with any car seat out of the box, but does offer adapters for leading brands.

UPPAbaby Cruz V2 vs. Bumbleride Era How to Fold

UPPAbaby Cruz V2

To fold the UPPAbaby Cruz V2, first lock the brake to stabilize the rear wheels and make sure the seat is facing forward (or has been removed from the frame if not). Lower the handlebar to its shortest setting, then lift up on the grey tabs at the right and lefthand sides of the handlebar and lower it toward your feet.

The Cruz V2 automatically locks when folded and stands upright, resting on the two rear wheels and two small rubber bumpers in the middle of the handlebar.

Hinge the lock inwards and lift the handlebar up to open the stroller.

Bumbleride Era

Two steps are required to fold the Era. First pull the small levers behind the backrest and lean the seat forward. Then, pull the triggers on the stroller frame and guide the handlebar down.

The Era automatically locks when folded and stands upright.

See how to fold the Bumbleride Era in the video below.
