Both the Silver Cross Reef 2 and Nuna MIXX Next are newborn-ready straight out of the box. A big positive for sure! Both strollers seat fully recline and convert into a carriage mode, creating a cozy, comfortable environment for a newborn. While both stroller seats are perfectly suited for use from birth, Silver Cross and Nuna also offer a separately sold bassinet. The Mixx Series Bassinet also comes with a stand and can serve as either a primary sleep system or a napping station at home.

Can the Silver Cross Reef 2 or Nuna MIXX Next be used as a travel system?

Both the Reef 2 and MIXX Next are easily paired with a compatible infant car seat to make a travel system. The Nuna MIXX Next comes with an infant car seat adapter included - its ring shaped adapter, allows an infant car seat to be effortlessly secured into place and released off of the stroller. However, only Nuna car seats work with the MIXX Next.

The Reef 2 has one adapter available for purchase. The post-style adapters work with several different brands of infant car seats.

The Silver Cross Reef 2 and Nuna MIXX Next are both premium strollers designed to navigate tough terrain with ease. Both strollers feature all-wheel suspension, larger back wheels, and front swivel wheels. The front wheels of both the Reef 2 and the MIXX Next can be locked for more control when going over rougher terrain!  

The wheel size on both strollers is almost identical. Both feature 7.5" front wheels, however, the MIXX Next has 11" back wheels versus 10" on the Reef 2. This slight difference is likely what equates to the 0.8 pound difference in overall stroller weight. You likely won't feel a difference in performance based on this slight difference in size and weight.
