Clek Foonf Convertible Car Seat

The Clek Foonf is among the safest convertible car seats on the market, thanks to best-in-class safety features such as a steel and magnesium sub-structure, an anti-rebound bar that improves stability and extended rear-facing use up to 50 pounds.

With Clek's REACT Safety System (Rigid-Latch Energy Absorbing Crumple Technology), the aluminum honeycomb in the seat absorbs energy from a crash to limit forces to the child—using safety technology similar to that in vehicles.

The headrest of the Clek Foonf, which connects to the frame with steel rods, uses energy-absorbing foam and deep side swings for maximum head protection. Foam layers on the inside and outside of the frame absorb forces to protect your child in a side-impact crash.

With its rigid-LATCH system, the Canadian-made Clek Foonf is convenient to install—even if you have three across the backseat, thanks to its narrow width.

The Clek Foonf is available in three choices of fabric, with most colors offered in Crypton C-Zero+ Performance Fabric, a fabric that provides permanent protection against stains, moisture and odors. Select colors as noted are available in Jersey Knit, a stretchy and soft spandex/polyester blend; and Merino Wool, which is hypoallergenic, free of flame retardants, and helps keep your child cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

  • Extended rear-facing use to 50 pounds
  • Steel substructure prevents twisting to keep child contained and protected in seat
  • Steel anti-rebound bar improves stability by limiting rotation of the seat, helping protect child's head in the event of a collision
  • Energy-absorbing crumple technology protects a forward-facing child in a collision by transferring force away from the child and into the aluminum honeycomb deformable cores integrated into the seat base
  • Foam-lined headrest connects to frame using steel rods, ensuring maximum head protection in a side-impact crash
  • Crash-tested to European New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP), which simulates forces in extreme collisions
  • Narrow width allows for 3-across seating
  • Easy recline function
  • GREENGUARD Select Certified Crypton Super Fabrics provide protection against stains, moisture and odor-causing bacteria and are free of brominated and chlorinated flame retardants
  • Approved for use in airplane
  • Manufactured in Canada

    Clek Foonf Excellent!!

We are so happy with our new car seat!! After extensive research and a consult from @safeintheseat, we decided on this one over any of the Nuna car seats. The safest car seat on the market right now. We have heard that it’s not as easy as an install as some on the market, but we actually went with the video manual and that helped a ton! We had it installed in no time. It has extra accessories on Clek’s official site as well if you are looking for an a extra Q Tether, wheel bag if you plan to travel, etc. Strolleria had it to us within 2-3 days of purchase, which was so great!! This is the perfect car seat and we are more than happy! Go with this one for a convertible car seat! You will not be disappointed!

    Great seat

Just ordered our second of these. Strolleria was the only place to have the same color in stock, which was such a lucky find! I actually paid a car seat consultant to tell me which is the best and safest car seat and this is where she steered me. Seat has already shipped within hours of placing the order too!

    Our 3rd Foonf

We love the Clek Foonf. We bought our third one. It is very heavy and sturdy. Not meant for moving from car to car because of the weight but if you plan to leave it in your car, it is the very best car seat in my opinion. Also narrow so we can fit them side by side which I like. We also have the nuna rava and the clek seems to be built sturdier.

    Decent, but unrefined

We ordered two of these and after trying the first one, we returned the second. First of all, it is HEAVY. Not a bad thing when it comes to safety, but something to consider if you're planning on transferring it from car to car regularly. On both my Model 3, and my wife's Range Rover, in order to get the 'level' line level, we had to push the Foonf in crooked so it wasn't fully seated on the lower portion of the seat. There is a large gap towards the rear. I emailed Clek and they said this is fine and won't impact safety - however I don't like it because it puts excessive pressure and wear on the seat cushion.

What we like: It's narrow, which is great + it looks cool. The anti-rebound bar gives lots of leg room in the rear facing position.

What we don't like: It's tall and takes up a lot of space behind the passenger seat. Not a great choice for smaller cars. The cushions and overall fit and finish seem cheap compared to the Nuna Rava. The belts lack any sort of retainer so getting the baby in and out is more work as a result. The belt release lever is a bad design that is difficult to use + can hurt your fingers. In addition, the left and right belts seem to be separate when releasing tension. Sometimes only one pulls out leaving them uneven when you're trying to re-tighten.

Overall I wouldn't recommend it. The Nuna Rava that we purchased is nicer in just about every way (except leg room when rear facing and width).

    Great car seat

Thing is built like a tank and looks like a Mercedes. Thankfully we’ve not had to test it’s true capabilities but our daughter is definitely more comfortable in it than her previous car seat. Expensive but you can tell where the money went with this car seat. The merino wool fabric is a very nice touch.
