What Is the Difference Between a Baby Monitor and a Baby Camera?

Many parents use the words "baby monitor" and "baby camera" interchangeably. However, we typically think of a baby monitor as one that has a dedicated monitor instead of only using an app on your phone or tablet. Both use a camera, and allow you to keep an eye on your little one, as well as have features like temperature alerts, motion and sound detection, VOX, and more. Baby monitors with a separate monitor though will allow you to have your baby on the screen at all times. When you use a baby camera with an app, you typically have to have it open to hear or see your baby. This can be hard to do if you are using your cell phone for other things.
