No - while the Doona comes with a base, it can be installed without a base. This makes it extremely easy to travel with or install in ride shares or multiple family vehicles!
Before installing the Doona without a base, it’s always a good idea to refer back to the manual and practice the seatbelt installation seen here:
It can take a few tries to get a solid, tight install so you don’t want to have to figure that out when you arrive at your destination or in a stressful situation.
