Exciting news! Bugaboo is launching an update to their beloved travel stroller. The Butterfly 2 builds on the original Butterfly, first released in Summer 2022, which hasn’t seen any updates aside from color changes—until now!

The Butterfly is known for it's sleek design, compact fold, and super high backrest fitting kids comfortably up to 50 pounds. It's the travel stroller everyone loves!

Butterfly 2 vs. Butterfly 1

While the Butterfly 2 keeps the same lightweight 16.1-pound frame, compact fold we love, and signature stylish look, the updates start to stand out once you take a closer look. Let’s break it down from top to bottom:

  • Sun Canopy: The new canopy is detachable and now features a peek-a-boo window in place of the previous mesh panel. You can still keep an eye on your little one while ensuring full shade during strolls!
  • Seat Updates:
    • A new back pocket provides a convenient spot for essentials like your phone or keys.
    • The seat now sits fully upright—something many parents wished for with the original Butterfly.
    • The harness now matches the seat fabric for a more cohesive look, and premium silicone branding on the seat and pocket adds an elevated finish.
    • The footrest is now adjustable with just one hand, making on-the-go comfort even easier to manage.
  • Chassis & Frame:
    • The frame has been updated with a more refined, streamlined design.
    • Black functional buttons have replaced the original white ones for a sleeker, more modern appearance.
  • Wheels:
    • The Butterfly 2 features larger, all-black wheels that offer a smoother ride and better handling—making it feel like a much bigger stroller than it is.

Specifications 

There aren’t many differences in specifications between the Butterfly 1 and Butterfly 2, but one standout update is the increased canopy height—giving taller or older children even more room to ride comfortably. The canopy height was already generous and one of the favorite features of the Butterfly! Let's take a look at the specs:
