Toki Kids makes organic cotton play mats, canvas play tents, and bean bag chairs for families who want their kids' play gear to look at home in a well-designed living room. The patterns lean modern and graphic, mudcloth, lunar phases, checker toffee, blue tile, so the pieces stay out year-round instead of getting hidden when company arrives. This collection suits parents setting up a nursery floor, a playroom corner, or a quiet reading nook that grows from tummy time through elementary years.

What to Look For in a Toki Kids Setup

    • Play mat thickness and surface: Look for extra-padded mats with GOTS-certified organic cotton covers and machine-washable construction. Mats with a grippy backing stay put on hardwood and tile.
    • Tent footprint and height: The canvas tents stand close to five feet tall on solid wooden poles. Measure your ceiling clearance and plan for roughly a 4x4 ft floor footprint before ordering.
    • Bean bag sizing: The current bean bag chairs fit toddlers through early elementary. Check the seat dimensions against your child's height if you want it to last past preschool.
    • Pattern coordination: Mudcloth reads as a neutral and pairs with almost any palette. Rainbow Peach and Lunar Phases work better as a focal point in a calmer room.
    • Care: Removable, washable covers matter more than you think once snacks and markers enter the picture.

Why Design-Conscious Families Pick Toki Kids

Toki Kids sits in the same design-forward category as the European stroller brands we carry, think the visual sensibility of Bugaboo or Stokke, applied to the floor of your home. A few specifics that earn that comparison:

    • GOTS-certified organic cotton and non-toxic dyes throughout
    • Reinforced stitching on bean bags built for jumping, not just sitting
    • Tent windows positioned at child eye-level for peek-a-boo and airflow
    • Patterns drawn from textile traditions (mudcloth, geometric tile) rather than licensed cartoon prints

Pair a play mat with one of the canvas tents to anchor a dedicated play zone in an open-concept room, the mat defines the space, the tent gives kids somewhere to retreat. If you're building out the rest of the room, our nursery storage and playards collections round out the floor plan. Reach out if you want help coordinating patterns across pieces before you order.

How do you wash a Toki Mat?

Washing your Toki Mat is so easy! To wash the cotton cover, you simply unzip the sides of the cover and remove the foam inserts. Then machine wash the cover in cold water on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. If your cover was loose with room to shrink, feel free to dry with low heat; otherwise it's recommended to air dry the cover to avoid shrinking. Do not use fabric softener or bleach.

The foam inserts can be spot cleaned with mild soap and water. If the foam gets wet, remove the cover and let it dry. It's recommended to avoid direct sunlight or air for long periods of time as this can make the foam brittle.
