Stokke Xplory X vs. Stokke Xplory V6 Stroller Comparison

Stokke's innovative Xplory stroller is getting a fresh new look for 2021!

Debuting in April 2021, the Stokke Xplory X builds on the previous Stokke V6 model, bringing a more contemporary look and added convenience without losing the iconic design the Xplory is known for.

We'll explore the similarities and differences between the Stokke Xplory V6 (released in 2018) and the new Xplory X in this comparison.

Stokke Xplory X vs. Stokke Xplory V6 Price

At $999, the price of the Stokke Xplory X is not changing for 2021.

But for a limited time, you can save $250 on the Stokke Xplory V6 at Strolleria: The previous model is 25% off while inventory lasts.

Stokke Xplory X vs. Stokke Xplory V6 Features

As with previous models, the Stokke Xplory X is the only stroller with a height-adjustable seat. You can raise the seat to bring your newborn closer to you and lower it once you have a toddler who's ready to hop in.

The Xplory X and Xplory V6 share many features, including the oversized canopy; all-terrain, puncture-proof tires; and removable storage bag.

However, with the Xplory X model, Stokke is making several improvements that parents (and babies) will love.

Adjustable Footrest

The footrest of the Stokke Xplory X is adjustable, allowing you to add leg support as your child grows.

With the V6 model, the footrest is not adjustable and has a separate leg rest for each foot. The design makes removing the stroller seat a little easier in rear-facing mode, but the stroller is not as comfortable for taller toddlers.

Harness

For the toddler seat on the Xplory X, the harness has been converted to a one-handed, full release buckle, which makes taking your baby in and out easier.

Fabrics and Styling

The Stokke Xplory X has several updates to its fabrics and styling that give the stroller an even more premium look and feel.

An improved newborn inlay is even more cozy and ergonomic for baby's first few months.

New fabrics are buttery-soft, PFC free, and made with 100% recyclable material that provides both UPF 50 sun protection and water repellency.

The canopy features a new seamless design, and branded webbing for the harness straps, plus 3D engraved logos on the harness pads, give a premium touch.

Storage Bag

Both the Stokke Xplory X and Stokke Xplory V6 have spacious storage bags that can be easily removed from the stroller, allowing you to grab your essentials when you're on the go. But the basket on the Xplory X is easier to use—and better matches the stroller, too.

The Stokke Xplory V6 model features an origami-style folding and expandable storage bag that can be a bit challenging to set up or use. The bag on the Xplory X model is more straightforward and spacious, with a cover overtop the storage bag for easy access.

While storage back on the V6 was black regardless of the stroller color, your storage bag for the Xplory X will match the stroller for a more cohesive look.

Stokke Xplory X vs. Stokke Xplory V6 Colors

Five colors are debuting for the Stokke Xplory X, giving the stroller a bold new look: Rich Black, Modern Grey, Royal Blue, Ruby Red, and Golden Yellow.

The Royal Blue and Modern Grey colors feature a brown leatherette handlebar and bumper bar, while all other colors feature black leatherette details.

For the Xplory V6, Stokke offered a wide range of colors for a time, including silver and black frame options, as well as a choice of brown or black leatherette details for some fashions. However, now that the V6 has been discontinued, few color options are remaining.

The streamlined color selections on the Stokke Xplory X will mean an easier shopping experience for parents.

Conclusion

Without changing the trendy design that the Xplory is best known for, Stokke has added several features that parents are sure to love about the new Xplory X.

Comfort is key with the Xplory X, thanks to an improved stroller seat that will keep your baby cozy from day one, upgraded and water-repellant fabrics, an adjustable footrest to grow with your toddler, and redesigned storage bag that is more user-friendly.
