Bugaboo Kangaroo vs. Cybex Gazelle S 2 | Which Stroller Fits Best?

As parents, we know that choosing the right strollers can make all the difference in your daily life and adventures, especially when trying to plan out your future with multiple children! The Bugaboo Kangaroo and Cybex Gazelle S 2 are both convertible strollers that easily convert from single to double. Plus both can hold up to 3 children when using the optional rider board! They are two of the most versatile strollers you can buy—whether you're planning for the future or already have a toddler with another baby on the way.

In this blog, we’ll take a closer look at the Kangaroo and Gazelle S 2, exploring their design, functionality, adaptability, and overall performance to help you find the perfect fit for your family’s needs!

Bugaboo Kangaroo

The Bugaboo Kangaroo is the single-to-double stroller that adapts as your family grows and needs change. It's a traditional style tandem-style double stroller, which offers in-line seats with one on top and one on bottom. Whether in newborn stroller mode or adjusted to carry two or even three kids, the suspension system and extra-large shock-absorbing wheels provide the smoothest, most comfortable strolls, wherever you go. Engineered for ease, it’s quick to convert into the perfect setup for your family. Choose from over 20 configurations available when combined with dedicated accessories (all sold separately).

One of the best parts of the Bugaboo Kangaroo is the ability to keep your newborn close to you with the upper newborn adapter! This allows the bassinet to go on top while your toddler takes in the views from the bottom front seat. Plus, you can bring a third kid along with the Bugaboo comfort wheeled board.

Cybex Gazelle S 2

The Gazelle S 2 is Cybex's only convertible stroller, seamlessly transitioning from a single to a double stroller for siblings or twins—with no additional adapters required.

You can use the Gazelle S 2 in single mode with the reversible toddler seat, a bassinet or a car seat from Cybex or several popular brands. Headed out for groceries or a day on the town? Move the stroller seat to the lower position and attach the included shopping basket to the upper position.

As a double stroller, the Cybex Gazelle S 2 offers plenty of flexibility for siblings or twins, offering more than 20 configurations and a 50-pound weight capacity per seat. Add the Gazelle S 2 Kidboard sold separately, and a third child can come along for the ride!

In mid 2024, Cybex also released an electric version of the Gazelle, called the e-Gazelle S! This stroller has the same design of the original Gazelle, however, has a few added features to add a helpful boost! The e-Gazelle S has forward power and downhill brake assist mode, which helps control how much assistance you need with the convenient lever on the handlebar (no phone application required for use). It also has a rocking feature that can be turned on to soothe your child when stopped.

Bugaboo Kangaroo vs. Cybex Gazellle S 2 Configurations

The seats on the Bugaboo Kangaroo and Cybex Gazelle S 2 are removable and reversible, allowing your child to face you when younger and face forward to explore the world later on. Both strollers can also be used with an infant car seat and bassinet. However, the Bugaboo Kangaroo includes a bassinet with purchase! A bassinet provides a newborn a safe, flat surface to rest or sleep, which is the safest for their developing head, neck, and spine, as well as their airways.

The Bugaboo Kangaroo offers more than 20 configurations and even allows you to put the bassinet on top (using the upper newborn adapter) to keep a closer eye on your newborn. The Kangaroo is not made for twins however - only one bassinet or car seat can be on the frame. The seats can both face the same way or opposite ways.
