Bugaboo Donkey5 vs. Bumbleride Indie Twin Stroller Comparison

Bugaboo Donkey5 vs. Bumbleride Indie Twin Stroller Comparison

Searching for a high-quality side-by-side double stroller for twins or siblings that pushes with ease?

The Bugaboo Donkey5 and Bumbleride Indie Twin strollers are two popular double strollers with features that cater to different needs and lifestyles. Both strollers have robust suspension and all-terrain wheels, making them suitable for outdoor activities and rough terrain. Both models have hearty tires that will smoothly roll across grass at game day, large storage spaces to keep your necessities at hand, and many configurations to fit your family whether this is your first, second, or third child! However, they are very different as well!

The Donkey5 is a single to double stroller that has reversible seats, a side storage basket when in single mode, and allows parents to customize the stroller to meet their specific needs. In contrast, the Bumbleride Indie Twin stroller is a double stroller with fixed seats, meant for outdoor adventuring. It has an easy one piece fold.

Ultimately, the choice between these strollers will depend on individual preferences and needs of your family. Let’s see how these two strollers compare!

Bugaboo Donkey5

As one of the only strollers that converts from a single to a side-by-side double, the Donkey is easier to push, turn, and get over curbs than many tandem style convertible strollers. It may be perfect for you if you regularly go between needing a single or double stroller!

New for the Donkey5 model, a higher seat position brings your child closer to you, while a ventilated bassinet and updated fabrics keep your child cozy at every age. These and more updates add convenience, comfort, and style!

Parents will enjoy an easier fold, dozens of color combinations, and a handy quick click harness. Plus with just a few clicks the Donkey5 can become a single stroller with a handy side basket for more storage!

In addition, Bumbleride strollers are free of harmful chemicals like fire retardants, PVC, and phthalates. The stroller's water-resistant properties are achieved through the use of PFC-free durable water repellent, while its plastic components are made from 25% recycled fishing nets. The Donkey5 can have two identical seats on the frame, and both seats hold up to 50 pounds. Many other single to double strollers have two different sized seats, so this is a great positive! The seats are generous at 19” tall and offer 21" underneath the canopy. There is no official height limit.

The seats are the same as Donkey5 - 19” tall and 23” underneath the canopy. There is no official height limit.

We have found that most average sized kids fit in both strollers up to about age 4 or 5!

Bugaboo Donkey5 vs. Bumbleride Indie Twin Configurations

Bugaboo Donkey5 Configurations

The Bugaboo Donkey5 is unique in that it can expand from single to double width wise. It can accommodate any combination of 1-2 stroller seats, bassinets, or infant car seats, plus an optional ride along board for an older third child to stand or sit on.

With side by side seating, the Donkey has seemingly limitless configurations and recline options. Toddlers can face parent, forward, or opposite directions and be as reclined back as much as they'd like without running into their sibling's seat. Side by side configurations mean parents can easily keep an eye on both children at once, from napping newborns to inquisitive toddlers.

See all the Donkey5 configurations in our video here!

Bumbleride Indie Twin Configurations

Since the Bumbleride Indie Twin has fixed seats there are not as many different options as the Donkey5. However, you can use one or two bassinets, one or two car seats, or just both seats. It’s great for twins or siblings! The seats also recline independently, and you can add a ride along board for an older third child.
