BOB Wayfinder vs. UPPAbaby Ridge | Stroller Comparison

BOB Wayfinder vs. UPPAbaby Ridge | Stroller Comparison

For those who are serious runners or simply seeking a versatile all-terrain stroller, BOB is undoubtedly a name you've come across. As the leading brand in the jogging stroller industry, BOB has been catering to active parents for over two decades.

Launched in 2023, the BOB Wayfinder is BOB’s midsize jogging stroller - great for jogging, but perfect for everyday too. It has everything BOB is known for plus a smaller footprint and easier fold!

UPPAbaby strollers are ubiquitous at the zoo, the playground and your neighborhood sidewalks—and now, you'll see them zip by on jogging paths and hiking trails, too.

In 2021, UPPAbaby launched the Ridge, its first stroller built for running and all-terrain adventures. The Ridge has features that set it apart from other jogging strollers like a mountain bike-style disc brake system and foam-filled wheels that will never go flat.

In this comparison, we’ll look at the differences between the BOB Wayfinder and UPPAbaby Ridge jogging strollers!

Let’s get rolling!

Why do parents love the BOB Wayfinder?

The BOB Wayfinder Jogging Stroller is the ultimate choice for active parents seeking a perfect balance of fitness and outdoor adventures with their little ones. This high-performance stroller boasts a rugged frame, designed to tackle rough terrain with ease. Its swiveling front wheel provides exceptional maneuverability while the suspension system ensures a smooth and comfortable ride on uneven and bumpy roads.

This jogging stroller is equipped with a variety of features to make your jogging experience more enjoyable such as an adjustable handlebar, adjustable canopy, and padded seat. It’s easy to fold and store, with a compact design which allows for easy transportation and storage, whether you're at home or on the road.

With safety as a top priority, The BOB Wayfinder Jogging Stroller comes with a five-point harness system and padded seat to ensure your child is safe and comfortable. The foot-activated rear parking brake provides extra safety and stability, while the reflective accents on the stroller enhance visibility during low-light conditions.

Why do parents love the UPPAbaby Ridge?

After the success of strollers like the single-to-double Vista, UPPAbaby entered the jogging stroller market with the Ridge in 2021.

The UPPAbaby Ridge differs from most jogging strollers because its tires are not air-filled. The foam-filled rubber wheels made by car tire manufacturer Kenda are durable and shock-absorbing, but you won't need to inflate them on the go.

The Ridge can be used for your baby's first walks by attaching a car seat like the UPPAbaby Mesa models or adding a bassinet (if you already own an UPPAbaby stroller, it's the same one that comes with the Vista and is compatible with the Cruz).

The BOB Wayfinder and UPPAbaby Ridge are pretty similar in weight and size when opened. However, the Wayfinder does fold smaller, and holds a child up to 75 pounds versus 55 pounds for the Ridge. Although, the Ridge has more head height for a taller child.

Both companies offer generous warranty coverage included with purchase. BOB offers a 5-year warranty on the frame and 1 year of coverage for fabrics and components. If registered within 3 months of purchase, UPPAbaby offers a 3 year warranty. If registered after 3 months, the warranty is 2 years long.

BOB Wayfinder vs. UPPAbaby Ridge: Configurations

Both the BOB Wayfinder and UPPAbaby Ridge seat can be used starting around 6 months, when baby has gained enough head and neck strength for a more upright seating position.

While pediatricians don't recommend jogging with a newborn, both strollers can be used from birth for walking if you attach an infant car seat using an adapter. The UPPAbaby Ridge though can also be used from birth with the UPPAbaby Bassinet, which is approved for overnight sleep too! Unfortunately there is no bassinet option for BOB strollers.
