2020 Silver Cross Jet vs. 2019 Silver Cross Jet Stroller Comparison

The Silver Cross Jet is a top travel stroller for frequent fliers, folding to a compact size that fits overhead bins and even rolling through the airport like carry-on luggage.

Note: Silver Cross released the Jet4 in late 2023. To read more about the Jet4, click here!

Now, for 2020, the Jet is getting upgraded from coach to first class.

The 2020 Silver Cross Jet includes a whopping 62 upgrades that give the stroller a more premium look and feel while adding comfort features for both parent and child.

While most of the 62 upgrades involve behind-the-scenes engineering work, parents will notice the stroller's sturdier and smoother ride, upgraded fabrics, and a roomier, more structured seat that now accommodates a child up to 55 pounds.

Read on to learn all the differences between the 2020 and 2019 Silver Cross Jet.

One aspect of the Silver Cross Jet isn't changing for 2020: the price.

Despite its upgrades, the 2020 Jet is priced the same as in previous years: $399 for Black and $429 for Mist and Ocean, which are special-edition colors with more premium fabrics.

2020 Silver Cross Jet vs. 2019 Silver Cross Jet Wheels and Suspension

The 2020 Silver Cross Jet is small yet sturdy, featuring upgraded suspension along with wider wheels for added stability.

The 2019 Jet also has suspension in the front wheels, but the improvements to the 2020 model give the stroller a smoother and more stable ride.

2020 Silver Cross Jet vs. 2019 Silver Cross Jet Colors and Fabrics

For 2020, Silver Cross is changing the color palette of the Jet to four neutral options: Black, Mist, Silver, and Ocean.

The 2019 Jet comes in a wider variety of colors, some of them bright, with only the Galaxy and Orkney colors including leatherette details.

2020 Silver Cross Jet Color Options

All four color options feature leatherette details for a sophisticated look, with Black, Silver, and Mist showcasing a saddle brown handlebar and bumper bar, while Ocean includes dark brown details.

Plus, the 2020 Jet includes more premium fabrics with added detailing, like an improved UPF 50+ sun visor and leatherette piping on the harness pads (seen on the left in the photo below, compared with the 2019 fabrics on the right.)

2020 Silver Cross Jet vs. 2019 Silver Cross Jet Weight and Specifications

Both the 2019 and 2020 versions of the Silver Cross Jet are among the lightest and most compact strollers on the market, meeting carry-on requirements for all major airlines.

The length and width of the Jet haven't changed, although the handlebar of the 2020 Jet is nearly 2 inches taller to accommodate taller parents.

Because of the wider and more structured seat on the 2020 Jet, the new model has a weight limit of 55 pounds—the highest of any stroller of its size.

Car Seats Compatible with 2020 Silver Cross Jet and 2019 Silver Cross Jet

The 2020 and 2019 models of the Silver Cross Jet are compatible with the same infant car seats, but the 2020 Jet requires a different car seat adapter.

New for 2020, the Silver Cross Jet car seat adapter now includes a bar that provides better stability for the car seat and attaches more easily, too. The bar and adapters can be disassembled for easier transport.

The 2020 car seat adapter fits all models of the Jet, but the 2019 adapter only fits strollers from 2019-earlier and does not fit the new stroller.

Using adapters, these car seats are compatible with the Silver Cross Jet.
