Honestly I love the wheels is very durable and closes and opens easily.
Absolutely love this stroller. The best purchase we’ve made for our baby.
I was torn between the NUNA MIXX NEXT, NUNA TRVL, and Uppababy. After hours of research and testing each of them out, we decided on the Nuna Mix Next. This stroller is perfect for our needs. The wheels are what was the determining factor on going with this stroller. They are fit to go over any terrain we walk on. We have even taken this stroller on gravel roads, and it still rides smooth. The stroller is super easy to fold and the fabric and quality is amazing!
Awesome stroller! Everything about it feels top of the line. I love that it works with my car seat, bassinet, and that the seat can be used from the newborn stage up to 4 years. My bassinet didn’t arrive until a few weeks after my son was born but I used the seat to take him on daily walks still by just fully reclining the seat-so awesome!! It is a little bulky so I’m looking into a travel stroller as I don’t want to risk the airlines wrecking this stroller. But that being said-it does fit nicely in my car trunk (I have a sedan), and hall closet so everyday use hasn’t been an issue at all. It’s super compact and folds easily-it just won’t be the best travel stroller.
As new parents, you try to make the best decisions on the most important baby equipment. Safety is the first priority but then practicality comes in at a near second. We did a ton of research and thought we were making the best stroller decision, but sometimes you just don't understand the pros and cons until you start using something. While I think this is an amazing stroller it just isn't a good fit for my needs.
A few important things to note. We live in a 2 bedroom apartment in a city with not a whole lot of storage space. We have a fairly normal sized car (Tesla model 3) with reasonable trunk space.
There are a ton of pros, but I'm going to start with the two most critical items so you can evaluate if the stroller is a good fit for you.
The weight is 28.3 lbs. without the arm bar or insert. This is pretty heavy especially when you don't lift with 2 arms. That's a reality sometimes, as your other hand is often occupied. My partner struggles with the weight, and if you have a bad back forget about it!
The folded stroller takes up a ton of trunk space. Those huge wheels are an absolute pain since they stick out. Sure you can temporarily remove them but that's just not practical. The stroller appears to take up about 2/3 of our trunk and it is a struggle to get it in and out.
Beyond this, here are some things that would be helpful to know.
The fabric, materials, and build quality of this stroller are excellent. The stroller looks great, and handles really well thanks to the larger wheels. For the most part, it is a joy to use this stroller throughout the city. Since it's a full size stroller, it is a little larger, so it does become a little challenging when trying to navigate narrow areas.
The canopy is nicely made, provides sun protection, and has a zipper allowing it to extend either further. When you extend the canopy, there is exposed mesh which helps add breathability but opens up the risk of sun exposure. There's a magnetic flap in the back that you can also open to peak on your little one if they're facing the opposite direction. What's missing is a sun shade like what you find on the Nuna Pipa car seats. It's difficult to understand why this wasn't included. Since there isn't even an accessory, you will need to drape a blanket over the stroller on sunny days or when you want to shade your little one when they're sleeping.
The seat has 5 recline position, including one that's nearly flat. Our tiny weeks old baby sleeps wonderfully in full recline mode, and we tip her up 1 or 2 notches when she's awake and wants to interact with the world (or we simply want to stare at her). Sometimes when moving from recline 4 to the greatest recline in position 5, the stroller locks up a little bit. When this happens, I life the latch a little more and it seems to eventually allow me to put it into place.
The seat seems pretty comfortable with the newborn insert, and we feel the baby is safe in the magnetic harness. We sometimes find it challenging to place our daughter in the best spot for the straps, so sometimes we have to reposition her so the latches work properly. Since babies grow quickly, you may need to adjust the straps more often than you think.
The reversable seat is fantastic. I love the ability to have our baby facing us. It's pretty easy to flip the seat direction when it's empty, although a little more challenging when occupied. You can also connect the bassinet as well as a Pipa car seat (the latter requiring the including ring adapter). I like the ability to click my car seat into the stroller, but I hate the need of the ring adapter. The adapter is just one more thing in the trunk of our car that we hardly ever use.
As far as folding, it's a little frustrating at times. You can indeed fold this stroller regardless of the direction of your car seat. However, the stroller folds up the best and most compact if you have the seat facing away from you. For us, that means when unfolding we have to flip the seat facing us, and then afterward we need to flip the seat facing away from us. If you try to fold the stroller with the seat facing opposite of you, the stroller ends up taking up even more space.
The wheels are as wonderful as advertised, and the suspension is legit! This stroller glides, but at a cost of storage and trunk space with the wheels always sticking out. All the wheels are removable, but you're not going to want to do that very often.
The bottom storage space is AWESOME. We put shopping bags, our diaper bag, etc. in there. It's roomy and strong and a life saver! We don't even really need an additional bag hanging off the front.
Unfortunately, while we've only used the stroller for about a month, we are searching for alternatives because it just isn't practical due to the weight and how difficult it is to get in our car trunk. We've heard the TRIV is 10 pounds lighter and has most of the features of the Mixx Next. So we may end up buying a ...
