When should I buy a stroller?

You’ve just found out you’re pregnant, and now you’re wondering when you should buy a stroller. We would say the majority of expecting parents buy their stroller in the second or third trimester, but it's really up to you!

The timing can depend on a variety of factors including your personal preferences - are you a planner? - your lifestyle - do you plan to take long walks right away? - and your specific needs - are you due in the middle of winter in a snowy climate? Some parents don’t need a stroller right away, whereas others want to start walking with their baby as soon as they feel ready. There really is no right or wrong answer.

We always recommend researching and testing strollers out in person if able! Sometimes you have an idea in your head, but when you play with the stroller in person, you completely change your mind. If you don’t live near Strolleria, we are happy to help on chat and email! There’s an overwhelming amount of options, and we love simplifying the process, helping you select the stroller that’s best for your family!

While you can wait to purchase a stroller, you should purchase baby’s car seat early enough to get familiar with it, practice installing it, and practice buckling and adjusting it! We recommend you have the car seat on hand no later than 35 weeks to give you this time.
