The Babyzen YOYO2 is a top compact stroller that can be used with newborns when you attach one of three accessories:
Because the stroller frame is sold separately, you can purchase any Babyzen newborn accessory to use the stroller from birth. All accessories can be used with either the YOYO2 or the prior model YOYO+.
Read on to see how to use the Babyzen YOYO for newborns.
The two products differ in their features, fold, and functionality on and off the stroller.
The newborn pack is convenient for travel because it folds with the stroller, allowing you to store the YOYO in one piece. However, because the newborn pack consists of soft, unstructured fabrics, it can't be used off the stroller.
The Babyzen bassinet has a hard bottom, allowing it to be used off the stroller if you're headed into a restaurant or friend's house. While it doesn't fold with the stroller, the bassinet does fold into two half-shells for storage.
The bassinet is also cooler for warm-weather use, thanks to a breathable mattress and ventilated shell and canopy, and does not require the use of a harness. The newborn pack has a harness, along with a sherpa lining that makes it cozier for cool weather.
With the use of car seat adapters, the Babyzen YOYO is compatible with infant car seats from Clek, Cybex, Maxi Cosi and Nuna.
The YOYO car seat adapters consist of two pieces: one piece that stays connected to and folds with the stroller, and one piece that stays connected to the car seat.
Please note that the Cybex Cloud Q infant car seat is not compatible with the Babyzen YOYO2 as the weight of the car seat and the baby would exceed the weight capacity of the stroller.
The Babyzen YOYO 0+ newborn pack or Babyzen bassinet are designed to be used for approximately six months.
Once your baby can sit upright unassisted, you'll attach the Babyzen 6+ Color Pack, consisting of the canopy and seat fabrics.
Neither the Babyzen newborn pack nor the Babyzen bassinet are approved for overnight sleeping.
The newborn pack can only be used when attached to the stroller because it is soft and unstructured, making it unsafe for use separately.
The bassinet is hard-bottomed and can be safely used on the floor. However, it is not designed for overnight sleeping and should be used only with supervision.
Configured with the stroller seat fabrics, the Babyzen YOYO 6+ does not have a lay flat recline that would be suitable for newborns. But the stroller does have a partial recline that can be used for long walks or naps with a baby 6 months and up.
