Nuna SWIV vs. Nuna TRIV Next Stroller Comparison
Nuna has been making high quality baby gear since 2007, and recently released their newest stroller: the Nuna SWIV! The Nuna SWIV looks very similar to the best selling Nuna TRIV Next, with one big difference. The SWIV has 360 degree swivel wheels! Both the SWIV and TRIV Next fall in the category mid-size strollers as they are a bit more compact with smaller folds and smaller wheels allowing them to fit in tighter spaces easier. These strollers are not short on features though and are beloved for their smaller footprint. Let's take a closer look!
What are the major differences between the Nuna SWIV and Nuna TRIV Next?
While the Nuna SWIV and Nuna TRIV Next look similar, they do have some differences when you look closely. Like its name, the SWIV can swivel from side-to-side with the push of a button. The button-activated 360° rotation on all 4 wheels allows for instant pivot navigation. Besides the 360 degree swivel wheels, the SWIV also has a bigger storage basket and is over 2 pounds heavier than the TRIV Next. It's also a bit larger when open and folded. The SWIV kind of blends the MIXX Next with the TRIV Next in terms of the seat, as it has the same seat as the TRIV Next, except for the footrest. The TRIV Next seat has the frame on the end of the footrest, while the SWIV is open on the end.
Lastly, the SWIV also includes more with purchase including: ring adapter, cup holder, rain cover, and carry bag - but it does come at a higher price point as well. The TRIV Next only includes the adapter.
Can the Nuna SWIV and Nuna TRIV Next be used from birth?
Since the Nuna SWIV and Nuna TRIV Next do not lie completely flat, they can be used from birth only when paired with either a Nuna PIPA Series Infant Car Seat or the LYTL bassinet. While the infant car seat offers much-needed convenience for families on the go, a bassinet is the preferred environment for extended periods of stroller use. The LYTL bassinet is a versatile accessory that comes with an included stand, making it a great overnight sleep or napping station for home use as well.
Can the Nuna SWIV and Nuna TRIV Next be used as travel systems?
Both the Nuna SWIV and Nuna TRIV Next can be used as a travel system. Both strollers come with the same foldable adapter. The infant car seat clicks easily into the adapter and releases with one click.
Infant car seats compatible with the Nuna SWIV and Nuna TRIV Next:
Both the SWIV and TRIV Next come with a foldable adapter that works with all Nuna PIPA infant seats. This adapter is unique to the SWIV and TRIV Next only, and is super convenient, especially when using the stroller without the stroller seat. You simply pull up on the adapter, and the stroller AND adapter fold in half! The adapter has a carrying strap to make carrying the stroller even easier.

What stroller offers better performance? Nuna SWIV or Nuna TRIV Next:
Both the SWIV and TRIV Next offer spring suspension technology built into the seat to provide smooth rides by absorbing energy caused by uneven terrain. They also both feature all-wheel suspension and durable rubber, EVA foam-filled tires that are ready for any terrain! However, with the 360 degree swivel wheels, the SWIV will offer more maneuverability and pivot navigation than the TRIV Next. In a crowded line or shop? No problem, the SWIV can easily maneuver sideways as needed.
