Maxi-Cosi Emme 360 vs. Evenflo Revolve360 Extend Rotating All-in-One Car Seat Comparison

Maxi-Cosi Emme 360 vs. Evenflo Revolve360 Extend Rotating All-in-One Car Seat Comparison

A new car seat trend is here - the rotating car seat - and it’s truly a game-changer!

These rotational car seats are designed to spin a full 360° or swivel towards the vehicle door to allow you to buckle your child up facing you! And the best part: they make it easier to keep your child rear-facing for longer, maximizing their safety.

Research continues to show that keeping your child rear-facing until they're at least two years old (but hopefully much longer) can significantly reduce the risk of spinal injuries in the event of a crash. A rotating convertible car seat makes it easier to buckle your child into their car seat, then turn it rear-facing, incentivizing caregivers to keep the child rear-facing for longer.

The ergonomic design is a win for caregivers too. No more struggling to hoist your not-so-little-anymore child in and out of their car seat. With the rotating feature, they'll be facing the vehicle door for you to harness and buckle before turning, which means less strain on your back.

In this comparison we will compare the Maxi-Cosi Emme 360 All-in-One Rotational Convertible Car Seat and the Evenflo Revolve360 Extend All-in-One Rotational Car Seat with SensorSafe

Maxi-Cosi Emme 360

The Maxi-Cosi Emme 360 Rotating Convertible Car Seat makes it easier than ever to get your child in and out of the car thanks to the 360° FlexiSpin rotational seat technology.

Maxi-Cosi has designed the Emme 360 to solve the most common car seat installation problem that seven out of ten parents unknowingly have - loose vehicle belt tension. Maxi-Cosi’s TensionFix is a patent-pending red-to-green tension-sensitive indicator that shows you when your belt is tight. Emme 360 evolves with your child through all of life’s stages, from birth to ten years. Travel with confidence in all three modes: rear-facing (5-40 pounds), forward-facing (22-65 pounds), and belt-positioning booster (40-100 pounds).

Maxi-Cosi Emme 360 vs. Evenflo Revolve360 Extend Product Weight

Both the Maxi-Cosi Emme 360 and Evenflo Revolve360 Extend are heavy car seats, however the Emme 360 is 8.4 pounds heavier than the Revolve360. Convertible car seats and All-in-One car seats are not as portable as infant car seats that can simply snap in and out of a base. To ensure the seat is installed safely each time, families should minimize switching seats between cars by purchasing two convertible seats or designating one vehicle for their children.

Maxi-Cosi Emme 360 vs. Evenflo Revolve360 Extend Dimensions

The Maxi-Cosi Emme 360 and Evenflo Revolve360 Extend are very similar in terms of size. They are average width for all-in-one car seats, however, both seats will need ample room in order to rotate. They are not the best choice for smaller cars or for a situation where you need car seats next to each other.

Maxi-Cosi Emme 360 vs. Evenflo Revolve360 Extend Rear-Facing Capacity

Both car seats contain an infant insert and can be used for newborns. The Maxi-Cosi Emme 360 fits babies as small as 5 pounds / 19 inches - so it may not be a great fit for premie babies as they are often under 19 inches tall. Another important thing to note is the rear facing height limit is 40” versus the Revolve360 Extend is 48” - 40” is about an average 3.5-4 year old. Many choose to practice extended rear facing so that is something to keep in mind along with your child’s growth!

The Evenflo Revolve360 Extend fits babies as small as 4 pounds / 17 inches so it's a better option for premies. Just remember the harness straps must come from below or even with the baby’s shoulders.

Maxi-Cosi Emme 360 vs. Evenflo Revolve360 Extend Forward-Facing Capacity

Both seats have the nearly the same forward-facing specifications. Maxi-Cosi and Evenflo recommend keeping your child in the safest, rear-facing position until at least age 2.

Maxi-Cosi Emme 360 vs. Evenflo Revolve360 Extend Booster Capacity

Both seats can turn into high back boosters when the time comes! Generally, kids are ready for a booster around age 5-7 years old. Readiness is measured in your child’s size, but also equally important is your child’s maturity to stay seated in the correct position.

Important to note - the Emme 360 has height limits that will be met much sooner than the Revolve360 Extend. At 52” tall, when the Emme is outgrown, your child will still need a booster seat. Typically a child won’t fit in a vehicle seat belt without a booster until they are 57” tall.

How to Rotate the Maxi-Cosi Emme 360 vs. Evenflo Revolve360 Extend

The best feature of the Maxi-Cosi Emme 360 and Evenflo Revolve360 Extend is the 360 degree rotation! It makes getting your child in their seat a breeze as the seat faces the doorway for easy access. Perfect for those with mobility or back issues - no more fighting a wiggly child trying to hoist them into their seat.

The way the two seats rotate are a bit different, however, both seats must be in the most reclined position if you want to spin them 360. For example, if you are parked and would like to spin your child to the front in order to interact with them still buckled you will need to make sure it is reclined all the way first. There are reclining levers on the back of both seats. However, both seats will still spin towards the door (180 degrees) without changing the recline.

Maxi-Cosi Emme 360 Rotation

In order to spin an Emme 360 towards the door for loading or unloading, you have to press and hold down the button on the front of the base of the car seat. It requires a bit of effort to hold this down while rotating so keep that in mind. Once you have it held down you grab the handle on the side of the car seat and spin!

Evenflo Revolve360 Extend Rotation

In order to spin an Evenflo Revolve360 Extend towards the door for loading or unloading, you simply lift up on the labeled “Lift to Rotate” gray handle located on the top of the side of the car seat. There are handles on both sides, but you only need to use the one closest to you. Then as you hold it up, you rotate and the car seat spins! This does not require much effort and is great for caregivers who don’t have as much strength.
