Babyzen YOYO2 vs. Babyzen YOYO+ Stroller Comparison

Babyzen YOYO2 vs. Babyzen YOYO+ Stroller Comparison

The Babyzen YOYO is a leading compact stroller that helps take the stress out of travel and everyday life.

It weighs less than 14 pounds, fits in an overhead bin, and can be carried on your shoulder. But while the stroller is light, it’s also strong, thanks to materials like aluminum alloy, stainless steel and fiberglass.

That’s what makes the YOYO one of the most popular strollers in Europe, where strollers need to be convenient enough for public transportation and durable enough for bumpy cobblestone roads.

The YOYO2, introduced in 2020, has a more luxurious look and feel compared to the previous model, the YOYO+. The updated model includes new features like a leatherette handlebar and independent, all-wheel suspension developed with advanced technology.

While the YOYO+ has been discontinued, the Babyzen YOYO2 is available at Strolleria and will continue through 2021 with no changes.

We'll review the differences between the Babyzen YOYO2 and the Babyzen YOYO+ in this post.

Babyzen YOYO2 vs. 2019 Babyzen YOYO+ Price

With its added features, the Babyzen YOYO2 with seat fabrics costs $499.98 to $524.98, depending on the Color Pack chosen.

For both models, the stroller frame is sold separately, allowing it to be used with three types of seating: an infant car seat using adapters, the 0+ Newborn Pack bassinet, or the 6+ Color Pack, which includes the canopy and seat fabric for babies 6 months and up.

Only the frame is changing for the YOYO2, so the same 0+ Newborn Pack and 6+ Color fabrics are used for both stroller models. See pricing for each configuration of the stroller below.

Babyzen YOYO2 vs. Babyzen YOYO+ Weight and Specifications

The YOYO is one of the most compact strollers on the market, and it meets carry-on requirements for all major airlines.

The weight and size of the stroller hasn't changed, nor has the size of the seat itself as the two models use the same seat fabrics.

Because of the upgraded suspension, the YOYO2+ qualifies for a 48.5-pound weight limit in the European Union; however, American regulations require that the weight limit of the stroller be classified as 40 pounds.

Stroller Weight

  • 13.6 pounds

Dimensions

  • Open: 39"L x 17"W x 41"H
  • Folded: 20"L x 17"W x 7"

Babyzen YOYO2 vs. Babyzen YOYO+ Suspension

The YOYO2 provides the smoothest ride on any terrain, thanks to its new independent four-wheel suspension that uses innovative technology.

The suspension on the YOYO2 uses Hytrel, a high-tech polymer developed by the industrial materials manufacturer DuPont. Hytrel combines the flexibility of rubber with the strength of thermoplastics, making the YOYO2 suspension uniquely resilient yet durable.

The YOYO+ also has all-wheel suspension, but new model feels more solid and smooth—a rare feat for a stroller of its size.

Babyzen YOYO2 vs. Babyzen YOYO+ Handlebar

The handlebar on the YOYO2 has been upgraded to faux leather, giving the stroller a more elegant look and improving its durability, too.

For the YOYO+ model, the handlebar is foam, a material that can deteriorate over time or crack in hot weather.

Plus, the YOYO2 handlebar now has a safety strap to ensure the stroller stays with you on hills and rough terrain.

Babyzen YOYO2 vs. Babyzen YOYO+ Feature Improvements

Other new features for the YOYO2 may be less noticeable but help make daily life with your stroller just a bit easier.

The harness buckle on the YOYO2 is more ergonomic to touch, and the harness straps are made of a softer and more flexible material to add comfort for your child.

The drawstring recline on the YOYO2 is easier to pull, and assembling the backrest on the stroller frame no longer requires a screwdriver, as is the case for the YOYO+.

Babyzen YOYO2 vs. Babyzen YOYO+ Colors

As with the YOYO+, the frame of the YOYO2 comes in two colors, black and white.

The 6+ Color Pack and 0+ Newborn Pack that can be used on either model are available in nine colors, allowing you to customize the look of your stroller.

Car Seats Compatible with Babyzen YOYO2

The YOYO+ and YOYO2 are compatible with the same infant car seats, and Babyzen offers only one type of car seat adapter

These are the car seats compatible with the Babyzen YOYO:

  • Clek Liing
  • Cybex car seats
  • Maxi-Cosi infant car seats
  • Nuna infant car seats

Babyzen YOYO2 vs. Babyzen YOYO+ Accessories

Babyzen is making one accessory change for 2020: The rain cover is now sold separately for the stroller, while the YOYO+ comes with a rain cover included.

As the overall design and size of the stroller hasn't changed with the YOYO2, all existing accessories that fit the YOYO+ also fit the new model.

Babyzen makes a variety of accessories that customize the stroller to your needs, including a cup holder, travel bag, car seat adapters, parasol, and more.
