The UPPAbaby Vista and the UPPAbaby Cruz are two of the most popular strollers on the market. And because they're made by the same great brand, the frames and seats of both strollers are almost identical. But the Vista and Cruz have a few major differences, too.

If you're deciding between the two, here's the most important question to ask: Do you want your stroller to grow with your family? As a convertible stroller, the Vista has the ability to convert from a single stroller to a double when a second child comes along. Meanwhile, the Cruz can seat only one child (unless you add the UPPAbaby PiggyBack ride-along board, an accessory available for both strollers).

Overall, the Vista is a larger stroller, with an oversized basket, bigger wheels, an included bassinet and the ability to accommodate a second child. That's why some parents prefer the Vista—and it's also why others prefer the Cruz, which is lighter and more narrow while priced at $300 less.

UPPAbaby released new versions of both the Vista and Cruz in 2020. Both the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and UPPAbaby Cruz V2 feature improved suspension and maneuverability, a roomier Toddler Seat to accommodate taller kids, new colors, and a no-rethread harness.

The Cruz is now more similar to the Vista than it was in previous years: In fact, it can be hard to tell the two strollers apart. The Cruz V2 now has larger wheels with all-wheel suspension for a smoother ride, while previous Cruz models had smaller wheels with front-wheel-only suspension.

UPPAbaby Vista V2

The UPPAbaby Vista V2 is one of the most versatile strollers on the market because it offers the option of converting to a double stroller for siblings or twins.

The Vista can be used with two stroller seats, two infant car seats, two bassinets, or any combination therein. But plenty of parents buy the Vista intending only to use it as a single stroller, thanks to its sturdy wheels, all-wheel suspension and oversized storage basket accommodating up to 30 pounds.

Unlike the Cruz, the Vista comes with a bassinet that's safe for overnight use. The Cruz can use the same bassinet, but it's sold separately.

UPPAbaby Cruz V2

The UPPAbaby Cruz V2 is a lightweight yet sturdy single stroller that's an ideal ride no matter where you're cruising. The Cruz has an almost identical seat and frame as the Vista and shares other features, too, like a reversible seat and standing fold.

Unlike the Vista, the Cruz can't convert to a double stroller and doesn't come with a bassinet, although you can purchase one separately for your newborn.

The UPPAbaby Vista V2 costs $300 more than the UPPAbaby Cruz V2. One main reason for the price difference: The Vista stroller is packaged with the bassinet, which is sold separately for the Cruz at $199.99.

Both strollers have the same height and weight capacity, with seats recommended for use from 3 months to 50 pounds. Use either stroller from birth by adding the Infant SnugSeat accessory for additional head and neck support, or attaching an infant car seat or bassinet.

The canopies of both the Vista V2 and Cruz V2 slide up on the frame to create more headroom for a growing toddler—a unique feature not seen on most strollers that can help accommodate tall kids.

For the V2 models of both strollers, the size of the Toddler Seat was increased, making the Vista V2 and Cruz V2 among the roomiest strollers on the market for taller toddlers.

    The UPPAbaby Vista V2 stroller is packaged in the same box as the bassinet, so you can't buy the stroller without getting the bassinet.

    The bassinet is optional for the Cruz V2: It doesn't come with the stroller, but you can purchase it separately for $199.99. The same bassinet is used for the Vista and Cruz, and no adapters are required.

    Bassinets aren't required for using the stroller with a newborn, but they are recommended for a few reasons.

    A bassinet allows a baby to lie completely flat, rather than in a slightly upright position in the car seat, which allows for open airways and a better-supported head and neck. Bassinets are also more ventilated than car seats, which tend to make babies sweaty with their protective foam.

    Plus, the Vista/Cruz bassinet is approved for overnight sleeping, making it a handy accessory if you're traveling or frequently visiting the grandparents. The bassinet can also be paired with the UPPAbaby bassinet stand for use at your bedside—and as a bonus, the stand even converts into a laundry hamper later on.

    Car seats compatible with UPPAbaby Vista V2 and UPPAbaby Cruz V2

    The UPPAbaby Mesa, Mesa V2 and Mesa Max infant car seat attaches directly to the frame of both the Vista V2 and Cruz V2 strollers without the need for car seat adapters. On both models, the Mesa releases from the stroller with the press of a button on the top of the car seat handle.

    With the purchase of car seat adapters, both strollers are compatible with car seats from top manufacturers including Nuna, Maxi-Cosi, Cybex, Peg Perego and Chicco.
